How is it, that even during a summer filled with ponds, kayaks, camper smiles, duck tours, visits from friends, starfish sightings, wave jumping, children’s museums, goat petting, bike rides…
wiggly dogs, seashell necklaces, gardening, harvesting, tasty drinks, dragon rides…
being silly, dance parties, rainbows…
sweet tea in mason jars (okay, it was bourbon and ginger), botanical gardens, arboretums, drippy ice pops, sprinkler parks…
impromptu picnics, barefoot adventures, daily hikes and imaginative play…
you STILL keep telling me you’re bored.

Right? The “I’m bored” whine – my parents could have strangled me over that, and now I know why!
I have found myself nodding my head trying to make unsuccessful threats, like “OH, REALLY?!? You think you’re bored?! You think you’re bored NOW? Just WAIT until… you just…I’LL MAKE YOU…oh, whatever. Let’s watch tv.”.
It’s amazing how kids can still be bored while parents are exhausted from all the stuff we just did with them.
I think my son’s favourite thing to say is “you never do anything fun with me” – he especially likes to say that when I just NEED to take a break after taking him to a museum, to the waterpark, etc…
Kids are evil.
OMG, I LOVE that last shot! LOVE it. clearly, you need to do a better job as a mommy and give her more to do. clearly.
Someone should call CPS immediately.
Love the photos of you and your daughter. And we have a black lab too. Summer is my favorite time of year. Can’t believe my two youngest started back school today. Not that school starting is all bad — just don’t want to call summer finished for another month or so.
I LOOOOVE summertime, although back to school is dreamy also. For all of us.
A little summer boredom is very very good. Otherwise, my son would NEVER go back to school. My response to “I’m bored” from him? Go read a book. To my 4yo daughter? I’m instantly filled with guilt and get down on the floor to play My Little Ponies. I can’t wait until she can read.
I’m so freaking sick of playing My Little Pony.
I think this just might be my favorite post of the whole SUMMER!
Thanks for hosting the link-up!
Bahaha! That last picture is too much! I think it’s a kid’s job to annoy her parents on summer break. It keeps us from getting bored too. Snort!
It looks like you’re had a fun summer, though! She is a doll. Hee hee!
That last photo killed me. Great shots!
See, this is what people think of when they think of summer. You really captured it. Here we’re all huddled in the AC waiting for October.
